General contractor Ward Henshaw Construction is seeking subcontractors to participate in an effort to replace two concrete water reservoirs and a steel water tower in Vancouver, Washington.

The scope of work for phase two of the three-phase project consists of demolition, earthwork, utilities, water pipelines, drainage systems, roadways, path pavement, tree removal, landscaping, site lighting, heavy duty fencing and other security features.

The project is taking place at Vancouver’s Water Station 1, in the Central Park neighborhood. The park features the city’s largest well field, which supplies annually about a quarter of the city’s water – a total of about 2 billion gallons.

The project’s first phase is done. Crews constructed a new booster pump station building, upgraded electrical infrastructure throughout the site, added a new SCADA System control room, installed a 2.5-megawatt generator as well as a new water disinfection system, and upgraded security features.

Now, phase two design is complete. Two new 4 million-gallon, ground-level reservoirs and a new elevated tank and new security fencing will be installed. A bike path will be created and lighting improvements will be added. Construction could begin in April; work is scheduled for completion by December 2021.

An additional third phase, currently scheduled to begin in 2022, will include replacing three existing wells.
