  • Design advice is sought for the modernization of Benson Polytechnic High School at 546 N.E. 12th Ave. The applicant is Jen Sohm of owner Portland Public Schools.
  • Early assistance is pending for a new two- to three-story multifamily dwelling with approximately five units at 1435 N.E. 62nd Ave. An existing single-family residence and accessory structure on the site will be demolished. The applicant is Melissa Meiners of Koble Creative Architecture, and the owner is Barley Pod LLC, which is registered to Ethos Development.
  • Early assistance is sought for a new six-unit multifamily building with ground-floor retail/office space on an unimproved property at the northeast corner of Southwest 37th Avenue and Old Capitol Highway. The 5,700-square-foot building would be staggered between two and three stories and contain two-bedroom, two-bathroom residential units. The applicant is Elijah Elder of Convergence Architecture, and the owners are Farzad Moradian and Sohelia Sadegh.
  • Early assistance is sought for a NW Natural response/service center not open to visitors on a 4.35-acre site at 904 S.E. Division St. Currently, MEI Group is using the property as a concrete/rock/fill yard. Approximately 2.85 acres on the site’s north portion are being developed under Phase 1, which will include a three-story office building and attached two-story storage building, as well as a pre-engineered metal garage structure. The second phase will consist of a single-story fleet garage and a single-story community relations storage building. The applicant is Mary Fierros Bower of LRS Architects, and the owner is Northwest Natural Gas Co.
  • Early assistance is sought for a new four-story hotel with ground-floor lobby and commercial space at 1642 N.E. Sandy Blvd. An existing single-story commercial building that houses See See Motor Coffee Co. will partially remain on the site. The applicant is Jared Diganci of Works Progress Architecture, and the owner is George Kassapakis.
  • Early assistance is pending for exterior improvements to a single-story retail building at 839 N. Killingsworth St. The applicant is Jason Tand of LRS Architects, and the owner is Jeanne Mehan.
  • Early assistance is pending for consolidation of two parcels at 1840 and 1832 S.W. Main St., and construction of a new under-20-unit multifamily building while preserving existing homes at the sites. The applicant is Michael Leis, and the owners are Michael Leis, Melanie Yoo and Melanie Gott.
  • Early assistance is sought for a change in occupancy of the top floor of a building at 733 S.W. Vista Ave. from residential to office. The applicant is Tom Jaleski of Code Unlimited, and the owner is 733 Vista Portland LLC, which is managed by Miriam Moussaioff of Emeryville, California.
  • A pre-application conference is pending for a new condominium building at 2374 S.W. Vermont St. The applicant is Josh Philippi of Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East, and the owner is Greater Portland Bible Church.
  • A pre-application conference is pending for a new 16-unit apartment building on a 5,000-square-foot parcel on the 2200 block of Northwest Kearney Street. Currently, the unimproved lot is used as a community garden. The applicants are Mike Osterman of Osterman Design Inc. and Lindsey Jones of Aligned Design, and the owner is Andrey Koshuba.
  • A Type II design review is sought for the addition of air conditioning vents on the exterior of a 159-unit affordable workforce housing building approved last year by the Portland Design Commission. The applicant is Chris Hagerman of The Booking Group, and the owner is Gateway Hermiston Affordable Housing. The project was designed by MWA Architects, and is being developed by Northwest Housing Alternatives.
