  • Early assistance is pending for a new three-story, three-unit residential building with a roof deck at 3218 N. Borthwick Ave. The applicant is Dave Humber of Humber Design Group, and the owners are Sharon Warner and the Timothy P. Brown Trust.
  • Early assistance is sought for a tenant improvement to a quarter-block warehouse building at 1135 S.E. Grand Ave. The project would include interior architectural demolition as well as installation of a commercial cooking program, employee break room and handling center. Exterior work will include storefront cleanup, relocation of exterior doors and addition of mechanical equipment to the rooftop. The applicant is Corey Omey of EMA Architecture LLC, and the owner is 1125-1135 SE Grand Avenue POR LLC of Los Angeles.
  • Early assistance is sought for construction of eight houses, street improvements, retaining walls and other required items at 6123 S.W. View Point Terrace. The applicant is Larry Cowlishaw of Method Construction, and the owner is DMZ LLC.
  • Early assistance is pending for the phased construction of two three-story, 19-unit buildings on two tax lots at 1463 N.E. Killingsworth St. The applicant is Mayard Mentrum of Mentrum Architecture, and the owner is 15th Avenue LLC, which is registered to Julie Selby.
  • Early assistance is sought for construction of a utility-scale battery energy storage system on a vacant industrial site at 9333 N. Time Oil Road. The applicant is Tom Kruger of Boulder, Colorado-based Able Grid Energy Solutions, and the owner is Steel Rail Investments LLC.
  • Early assistance is sought to amend a planned development and conditional use approval for redevelopment of a YMCA of Columbia-Willamette building at 6036 S.E. Foster Road. Multifamily development of the site was approved in 2016; the new proposal is for all of the dwelling units to be affordable and the number of units to increase from 54 to 90. The applicant is Robert Leeb of Leeb Architects, and the owner is YMCA of Columbia-Willamette.
  • A Type III design review with modifications is pending for the Willamette Blocks – a four-building mixed-use development with approximately 1,200 multifamily units, ground-floor retail space and parking on a South Waterfront parcel bordered to the east by the Willamette River, to the north by Southwest Lane Street, to the west by Southwest Bond Avenue and to the south by Southwest Lowell Street. A design advice hearing was held last month for the project, which would include two riverfront high-rises and two midrise structures to the west. The Dallas, Texas-based applicants are Jeancarlo Saenz of Hensley Lamkin Rachel Architects and Wade Johns of developer Alamo Manhattan. The owner is The Landing at Macadam LLC of San Mateo, California.
