The Daily Journal of Commerce on Wednesday held its inaugural event at the Sentinel Hotel in downtown Portland. The awards program was started as a way to tell the stories of how local firms are prioritizing safety and finding innovative ways to reduce the number of injuries suffered by workers and the public. A total of 13 firms were honored for their safety efforts.
