Julia Cannell is the new executive director of Airway Science for Kids, which aims to remove barriers for young people who have been systematically from STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education and careers by sparking potential interest via aviation. The organization is expanding its programs by purchasing a building in Northeast Portland to house a state-of-the-art STEM center, and offer educational and career opportunities. STEM classes are offered to students for free; they鈥檙e funded through charitable donations.
