Building permits issued for Dec. 30, 2019-Jan. 5, 2020

  • A $624,464 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for a new tenant in an office building at 3410 N.E. Broadway. The applicant is Pamela Deegan of contractor Western Construction Services Inc., and the owner is Maul Foster and Alongi Inc.
  • A $534,000 alteration permit is under inspection for restoration of the site of a temporary MRI building (to be demolished) to a parking area at Providence Portland Medical Center, 4805 N.E. Glisan St. The applicant is Michael Frazier of ZGF Architects, the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the owner is Providence Health & Services-Oregon. A $146,000 demolition permit is also sought for the project.
  • Three new construction permits with a combined value of $10,850,742 were issued for three new apartment buildings on consolidated tax lots on Southwest 12th Avenue, including: $967,396 for a three-story, eight-unit building at 3158 S.W. 12th Ave.; $3,836,082 for a five-story, 24-unit building at 3178 S.W. 12th Ave.; and $6,047,264 for a five-story, 40-unit building at 3192 S.W. 12th Ave. The applicant is Gabe Headrick of Steelhead Architecture, the contractor is BC Custom Construction Inc., and the owner is Scotia Market St Gains LLC of Tucson, Arizona.
  • A $2,300,000 new construction permit was issued on deferred submittal for metal panels and attachments to portions of the 4th and Montgomery building at 1810 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Taylor Doolen of contractor Andersen Construction, and the owner is Portland State University.
  • A $1,467,000 new construction permit was issued for a new fuel canopy, underground fuel tanks and associated site work at the Portland Water Bureau’s Interstate Operations and Maintenance Center at 1900 N. Interstate Ave. The applicant is Jana Gerow of the city of Portland, and the contractor is Kelso, Washington-based Anderson Environmental Contracting LLC.

  • An $875,000 addition permit is under review for the renovation of a single-story commercial building at 3825 N.E. Killingsworth St. to create a five-unit apartment building. The existing structure will undergo a full seismic upgrade, and a second floor will be added. The applicant is Brett Schulz of Brett Schulz Architect, and the owner is Bar Drawer LLC.
  • A $950,000 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for an existing credit union tenant at 336 N.E. 20th Ave. The work is to include interior office improvements, demolition of an existing exterior canopy and construction of new canopies. The applicant is Eric Hall of Eric Hall Architects Inc., the contractor is 1996 LLC, and the owner is Oregonians Federal Credit Union.
  • A $1,637,084 new construction permit is under review for a three-story building with 17 dwelling units and 14 sleeping units at 7530 N. Interstate Ave. The applicant is Casey McGuirl of McGuirl Designs & Architecture, the owner is North Portland Apartments LLC, and the primary contractor is out to bid.
  • Two new construction permits with a combined value of $4,704,944 are under review for new apartment buildings on adjacent lots on East Burnside Street, including: a $2,602,171 permit for a four-story, 42-unit building at 5960 E. Burnside St. and a $2,102,773 permit for a four-story, 29-unit building at 5980 E. Burnside St. The applicant is Gene Bolante of Studio 3 Architecture, the contractor is WDC Construction, and the owner is Dallas, Texas-based Texland Properties Corp.
  • An $849,308 new construction permit is under review for a three-story, 15-unit apartment building at 5855 S.E. 72nd Ave. The applicant is Zac Horton of Faster Permits, the contractor is Anamic Construction Inc., and the owners are Yevgeniy Pavlenko and Shanna Grinko.
  • Two new construction permits with a combined value of $1,400,000 are under review for new waste management enclosures at Portland International Airport. Each permit is valued at $700,000. The applicant is Zac Horton of Faster Permits, the contractor is Hoffman Skanska LLC of Parsippany, New Jersey, and the owner is the Port of Portland.

  • A $1,100,000 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for Smith Freed Eberhard in Suite 800 of the Columbia Square building at 111 S.W. Columbia St. The applicant is Aaron Benson of GBD Architects, the contractor is Russell Construction Inc., and the owner is Columbia Square LLC.
  • A $574,800 alteration permit was issued for landlord work to create a new tenant space on the 21st floor of the Wells Fargo Center at 1300 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Brandon Hansen of West of West, the contractor is Commercial Contractors Inc., and the owner is Sof-Xi WFP Owner LLC.

Facility permit intakes for Dec. 30, 2019-Jan. 5, 2020

  • A $7,000,000 alteration permit is under review for improvements on all floors and the roof of a Kaiser Permanente medical office building at 3550 N. Interstate Ave. The applicant is Robbin Gray of Clark/Kjos Architects, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest. A $3,000,000 mechanical alteration permit is also under review for the project; the contractor is Total Mechanical Inc.
