Building permits issued for Jan. 13-19, 2020

  • Three new construction permits with a combined value of $213,520,823 were issued for work related to parking additions and rental car consolidation at Portland International Airport. These include: a $151,214,983 permit for a new six-story parking garage with associated site improvements, helix exit ramp revisions, and elevated roadway and bridge connections to existing parking garages and the quick turnaround building; a $46,718,260 permit for a new four-story airport operations office building, which will contain rental car retail on the ground floor, offices on floors two through four, and will be adjoined to a new six-story parking garage; and a $15,587,580 addition permit for modifications to two parking garages for pedestrian tunnels and connections to the new parking garage. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is JE Dunn Construction, and the owner is the Port of Portland.
  • A $623,945 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for a new tenant in a two-story space at 404 N.W. 23rd Ave. The applicant is Zac Horton of Faster Permits, the contractor is BnK Construction, and the owner is Flanders PDX LLC Et Al.
  • A $680,000 new construction permit was issued on deferred submittal for external canopy work on a multifamily building under construction at 2865 N.E. Sandy Blvd. The applicant is Adam Thomas of contractor Fairfield Development LP, and the owner is San Diego-based Fairfield Sandy Limited Partnership.
  • A $1,365,000 new construction permit was issued on deferred submittal for light-gauge metal framing on a multifamily building under construction at 5620 N. Interstate Ave. A $422,000 new construction permit was also issued on deferred submittal for I-joists. The applicant is Hayden Doud of contractor R&H Construction, and the owner is CREA CEP Nomad LLC.

Building permit intakes for Jan. 13-19, 2020

  • A $711,032 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for a first-time tenant in a retail building that formerly housed a Fred Meyer store at 5253 S.E. 82nd Ave. The building’s occupancy type will change from mercantile to assembly. The applicant is John Chu of JTC Design, and the owner is Emmerts 82nd Ave Properties LLC. A contractor is not listed for the project.
  • A $550,000 new construction permit submitted on deferred submittal is under review for stucco and wood siding on The Canyons at 3450 N. Williams Ave. The applicant is Jack Beard of contractor R&H Construction, and the owner is PDX Canyons LLC.
  • A $700,000 new construction permit is under review for work at Portland International Airport, including roadway pavement widening, exterior lighting, landscaping, street signage, and landscape irrigation associated with modifications to the P1 and P2 parking garages. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the owner is the Port of Portland, and the primary contractor is out to bid.

  • A $3,100,000 alteration permit was issued for a lobby remodel for Bank of America on the first and second floors of the Bank of America Financial Center building at 121 S.W. Morrison St. The applicant is Chad Ethridge of Sum design studio + architecture, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is Terrace Tower USA – Portland Inc.
  • An $8,100,000 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement to the exterior and ground floor of the One Pacific Square building at 220 N.W. Second Ave. The applicant is Stephanie Amend of SERA Architects, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is REEP 220 NW Owner I LLC of San Francisco.
  • An $850,000 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for Ubiquiti in suite 410 of The Crossing at First, 2525 S.W. First Ave. The applicant is Peter Kim of LRS Architects, the contractor is Johnson Project Solutions Inc., and the owner is SW 1st Avenue Company I LLC of Newport Beach, California.
  • A $1,000,000 alteration permit was issued for landlord work on levels P1 through three of a Brewery Blocks building at 1125 N.W. Couch St. The applicant is Lindsey Newman of GBD Architects, the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the owner is SPF Brewery Blocks LLC.

  • An $827,200 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for Brownstein Rask in suite 950 of the Umpqua Bank Plaza building at 1 S.W. Columbia St. The applicant is Kim Conway of LRS Architects, the contractor is Robert Todd Construction Inc., and the owner is Umpqua Plaza Property LLC.
  • A $787,000 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for PDX13 on levels one and two of the 1320 Broadway building at 1320 S.W. Broadway. The applicant is Melissa Wortman of Seattle-based Interior Architects, the contractor is Swinerton Builders, and the owner is Portland 1320 Broadway Real Estate Holding LLC. A $125,000 mechanical alteration permit is also under review for the project; the contractor is out to bid.
  • A $3,965,870 alteration permit is under review for landlord work on floors one through eight of the Multnomah County Justice Center building at 1120 S.W. Third Ave. The applicant is John Longtin of Accurate Electric Unlimited, the contractor is Skyline Construction Services, and the owner is Multnomah County.
