Killingsworth St. Currently, the site is used for storage of materials and equipment, as well as for limited fabrications processes. Hoffman would like to build new storage and fabrication buildings and improve the site areas for truck circulation and exterior material storage. The development would also include approximately 331 surface parking stalls. A Type III design review is pending for changes to vehicular and pedestrian traffic during construction of Oregon Health & Science University’s 14-story hospital expansion, which was approved by the Portland Design Commission last month. The work would provide a construction truck turnaround area, reroute both lanes of traffic on the lower portion of Southwest Campus Drive, and reroute a pedestrian walkway. A shoring wall and removal of the hillside will be required to accommodate the first phase of the project; a second phase will return the hillside along with retaining walls, which will allow construction of an open-air bus shelter, a bicycle parking facility and below-grade fuel storage tanks. The applicant is Carl Tully of NBBJ, and the owner is the United State of America Department of Veterans Affairs of Washington, D.C.
