Building permits issued for May 4-10, 2020

  • A $600,000 addition permit was issued on deferred submittal for spray-applied and intumescent fireproofing to serve Madison High School at 2735 N.E. 82nd Ave. The applicant is Jacob Gerard of contractor Fortis Construction, and the owner is Portland Public Schools.
  • A $1,261,680 new construction permit is under inspection for a three-story mixed-use building at 4224 N. Mississippi Ave. The building will hold one level of apartments over two floors of office space. The applicant and owner is Benjamin Waechter of Waechter Architecture. No contractor is listed for the project.
  • Six new construction permits with a combined value of $26,889,988 were issued for work on the University of Portland’s Franz River Campus, a 35-acre waterfront property purchased by the school in 2008, including: $3,900,000 for a track and field complex with a 523-seat covered grandstand at 6350 N. Van Houten Place (a contractor is not listed for the project); $6,600,000 for a 12,880-square-foot boathouse and environmental lab building with a 2,389-square-foot mezzanine at 6320 N. Van Houten Place (the contractor is Yorke & Curtis); $16,000,000 for a 46,862-square-foot physical plant – a single-story, slab-on-grade building – at 6210 N. Van Houten Place (the contractor is Perlo Construction); $210,000 for a 2,108-square-foot electric cart cover; $120,700 for a 1,207-square-foot dumpster cover; and $59,288 for a 636-square-foot fueling station cover at 5828 N. Van Houten Place (the contractor is Perlo Construction).

Fifth Ave. The work will include removal of an existing meta screen, repair of wall surface and application of new exterior. The applicant is Nicole Holt of SERA Architects, the contractor is Pioneer Masonry Restoration, and the owner is 408 5th Ave Portland Propco LLC.
  • A $500,000 addition permit sought on deferred submittal is under review for exterior metal panels on the Multnomah County Central Courthouse building at 1200 S.W. First Ave. The applicant is Jeff Gardner of contractor Hoffman Construction, and the owner is Multnomah County.
