Tadesse Meskele, a GRI project engineer, has been selected by the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute as one of six Housner Fellows for the 2020 class. He will participate in the Housner Institute – a weeklong program of advanced classroom instruction under the direction of the Housner Fellows Management Committee. During his two-year commitment to the program, Meskele will participate in educational events and conferences while supporting policies for seismic resiliency. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Arba Minch University in Ethiopia, a master’s degree in water resources engineering from KU Leuven in Belgium and a doctorate in geotechnical engineering from Oregon State University.
