The buildings would be demolished and replaced with a new multistory Metro Center on the site’s west side, and new affordable multifamily housing on the east side. The new development would consist of 16,000 leasable square feet, including 12,500 square feet designated for a specialty grocer. It would consist of one level of below-grade parking with 97 parking stalls. According to the application, the area has gained a significant number of new apartment units and lacks a local grocery store; the development would eliminate a significant number of local automobile trips on Northeast Sandy Boulevard.
