Building permits issued for May 18-24, 2020

  • Nine new construction permits with a combined value of $1,807,001 were issued for improvements to the Springtree Apartments at 626-650 S.E. 162nd Ave. The work includes replacement of all building siding and trim, windows and doors, interior upgrades, new roofs, and replacement of exterior walkways, decks and railings. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Headwater Construction Company of Victor, Idaho, and the owner is Springtree Wishrock LP.

Building permit intakes for May 18-24, 2020

  • An $8,354,454 addition permit is under review for a tenant improvement for a warehouse building at 8940 N.E. Alderwood Road. The project will include an addition for a generator enclosure, infill of exterior wall openings and creation of a new opening, and new partition walls to create equipment rooms. The applicant is Nathan Arnold of Faster Permits, the contractor is Andersen Construction, and the owner is the Port of Portland.
  • A $2,500,000 alteration permit is under review for roof replacement work on the Headwaters Apartments building at 8833 S.W. 30th Ave. The scope of work is to include replacement of roofing material, sheathing and insulation with a new built-up roof assembly, and repair or replacement of manufactured roof trusses as needed. The applicant is Nathan Arnold of Faster Permits, the contractor is Lorentz Bruun Inc., and the owner is the city of Portland.
  • A $925,000 alteration permit is under review for improvements to a warehouse building at 602 S.E. 11th Ave., including a voluntary seismic upgrade and interior demising walls to create four office suites and two commercial kitchens. The applicant is Michael Parshall of Woodblock Architecture, the owner is 602 SE 11th LLC, and the primary contractor is out to bid.
  • A $3,000,000 new construction permit is under review for infill of pits on the south portion of a site at 2600 S.E. Ninth Ave. for a new parking lot, driveway, landscaping and stormwater facilities. The 4.35-acre site is being redeveloped as a response/service center for NW Natural. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Bremik Construction, and the owner is Northwest Natural Gas Co.

Facility permits issued for May 18-24, 2020

  • A $955,133 alteration permit was issued for an exterior alteration to the south wall of the J.K. Gill building at 408 S.W. Fifth Ave. The work will include removal of an existing metal screen, repair of wall surface and application of new exterior. The applicant is Nicole Holt of SERA Architects, the contractor is Pioneer Masonry Restoration, and the owner is 408 5th Ave Portland Propco LLC.
  • A $1,120,000 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement at the Marshall High School campus at 3905 S.E. 91st Ave. The school will be used as a swing site for students while Benson Polytechnic High School undergoes a three-year modernization project. The work at Marshall will include a new accessible walkway and interior demolition and construction of new demising walls for various classrooms and labs. The applicant is Nicholas Sukkau of owner Portland Public Schools, and the contractor is Andersen Construction. A $250,000 mechanical alteration permit was also issued for the project; the contractor is Apollo Sheet Metal.
  • A $1,175,664 alteration permit was issued on deferred submittal for a baggage make-up carousel and modification of existing conveyor feeder lines as part of a tenant improvement to Concourses C and E at Portland International Airport. The applicant is Randy Dirks of Phoenix, Arizona-based GS Airport Conveyors, and the owner is the Port of Portland. No contractor is listed for the project.
  • A $1,953,943 mechanical alteration permit was issued for a Google tenant improvement on the fourth and fifth floors of the Meier & Frank Building at 555 S.W. Morrison St. The applicant is Tyler Glidden of contractor Alliant Systems, and the owner is EOSII/SB Portland LLC of Newport Beach, California.

  • A $1,702,680 alteration permit is under review for landlord work at the basement, first-floor and roof levels of the Galleria building at 600 S.W. 10th Ave. The applicant is Stephanie Amend of SERA Architects, the contractor is Russell Construction, and the owner is UPG Galleria Property Owner LLC of Seattle.
  • A $1,900,000 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for Brown and Brown in Suite 1200 of the Moda Tower at 601 S.W. Second Ave. The applicant is Beth Lundgreen of Mackenzie, the contractor is Fortis Construction, and the owner is SVF Unico Portland II LLC of Seattle.
  • A $677,658 mechanical alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement for Cash App on three floors of the Aspect on Sixth building at 400 S.W. Sixth Ave. The applicant is Claire Diller of contractor Harder Mechanical, and the owner is Portland 400 Sixth LLC of Foster City, California.
