Building permits issued for June 8-14, 2020

• A $1,825,000 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for a new tenant to occupy a quarter-block warehouse building at 1135 S.E. Grand Ave. The work will include replacing an existing storefront, and installing new walls to create 21 kitchens, storage, an entry and restrooms. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is JHC Commercial, and the owner is 1125-1135 SE Grand Avenue Por LLC of Los Angeles.

• A $673,150 new construction permit was issued on deferred submittal for nonstructural metal framing on Kellogg Middle School at 3400 S.E. 69th Ave. The applicant is Anna Todd of contractor Todd Construction, and the owner is Portland Public Schools.

• A $17,900,000 new construction permit is under inspection for an adult drug and alcohol treatment center at 10230 S.E. Cherry Blossom Drive. The facility will have 94 total beds, dining and amenity space, an outpatient therapy facility and administrative offices. The applicant is Cory Hawbecker of Holst Architecture, the contractor is R&H Construction, and the owner is Portland Adventist Medical Center.

Building permit intakes for June 8-14, 2020

• A $1,181,000 alteration permit is under review for replacement of water-damaged glue-laminated beams, siding and windows on Multnomah County’s Southeast Health Center building at 3653 S.E. 34th Ave. The applicant is Corey Morris of Carleton Hart Architecture, the owner is Multnomah County Facilities and Property Management, and the primary contractor is out to bid.

• A $5,500,000 alteration permit is under review for installation of a new waterproof membrane on an existing garage structure at the American Plaza Towers condominium complex at 2211 S.W. First Ave. The project will also include rebuilding planters and site features to match existing structural upgrades. The applicant is Philip Pittsenbarger, the contractor is Andersen Construction, and the owner is the American Plaza Towers Condominium Owners Association.

• A $2,600,000 new construction permit is under review for construction of a shell building and site work at 8900 N. Ramsey Blvd. The applicant is Jennifer Kimura of VLMK Engineering, the contractor is Joseph Hughes Construction, and the owners are Jerry and Deborah Ivy of Mountain View, California.

Facility permits issued for June 8-14, 2020

• A $6,200,000 alteration permit was issued for installation of a new mechanical penthouse on the 10th floor of the Mark O. Hatfield Research Center building at Oregon Health & Science University’s Marquam Hill campus at 3250 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road. The applicant is Jeffery Dilba of owner OHSU, and the contractor is Hoffman Construction. A $1,700,000 mechanical alteration permit was also issued for the project; the contractor is Total Mechanical Inc.

• A $2,000,000 alteration permit was issued for a suite of improvements to the Kelly Elementary School campus at 9030 S.E. Cooper St. The applicant is Nicholas Sukkau of owner Portland Public Schools, and the contractor is ASA Construction.

• An $8,853,329 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for Google on the fourth and fifth floors of the Meier & Frank Building at 555 S.W. Morrison St. In addition to open office space, the work will create a nap room, music rooms, a maker space and a game room. The applicant is Stephanie Amend of SERA Architects, the contractor is Swinerton Builders, and the owner is EOSII/SB Portland LLC of Newport Beach, California. A $1,379,638 mechanical alteration permit was also issued for the project; the contractor is Alliant Systems.

• A $550,000 alteration permit was issued for installation of a vertical dumbwaiter for Siltronic at 7200 N.W. Front Ave. The applicant is Roger Cortain of owner Siltronic Corp., and the contractor is SSOE Systems Inc. of Toledo, Ohio.

• A $1,900,000 alteration permit was issued for a suite of improvements to the Mt. Tabor Middle School campus at 5800 S.E. Ash St. The applicant is Nicholas Sukkau of owner Portland Public Schools, and the contractor is Ross Builders Northwest.

• Four addition permits with a combined value of $630,000 were issued on deferred submittal for miscellaneous work on the Multnomah County Central Courthouse at 1200 S.W. First Ave. The applicant is Jeff Gardner of contractor Hoffman Construction, and the owner is Multnomah County.

Fifth Ave. The applicant is Erica Ceder of DLR Group, the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is the city of Portland. A $173,246 mechanical alteration permit is also under review for the project; the contractor is Temp Control Mechanical Corporation.
