Building permits issued for July 27-Aug. 2, 2020

  • A $500,000 permit was issued for walk-in cold storage rooms at Madison High School, at 2735 N.E. 82nd Ave. A second permit, valued at $1.1 million, was issued for photovoltaic panels at the school. A third permit, valued at $45,000, was issued for dugout slabs at the school. The applicants are Dane Armand and Sam Kaempf of Fortis Construction Inc. The owner is Portland Public Schools, and Fortis is the contractor.
  • A $1.9 million permit was issued for alterations to a single-room occupancy apartment building at 4619 N. Michigan Ave. Work includes site improvements, re-roofing, a staircase replacement, interior remodel and restroom accessibility improvements. The applicant is Bill Lanning of MWA Architects Inc. The owner is Patton Home LP, and the contractor is LMC Inc. of Tualatin.
  • A $2.15 million permit was issued for tenant improvements for Target at 4030 N.E. Halsey St. Work includes storefront reconfiguration, new partition walls and racking. The applicant is Zac Horton of Satterberg Construction, the owner is Wilshire Lucas Investments LLC of Minneapolis and the contractor is Hoffman Skanska LLC of Parsippany, N.J.
  • A $680,000 permit was issued for multifamily construction at 465 N.E. Davis St. The applicant is Shari Chin of Fairfield Development LP, the owner is Fairfield NE Grand LLC of San Diego and the contractor is Fairfield Development.
  • A $931,000 permit was issued for construction of a three-story, 18-unit apartment building at 6280 N. Montana Ave. with associated site work and no on-site parking. The applicant is Ben Carr with Brett Schulz Architect, the owner is 6234 N Montana LLC and the contractor is SAMS Development Inc.
  • A $10.4 million permit was issued for construction of a 56-unit apartment building with associated site work at 4610 N.E. 42nd Ave. The applicant is Craig Riegelnegg of Carleton Hart Architecture, the owner is CDP Developers LLC of Portland and the contractor is LMC Inc. of Tualatin.
  • A $1.14 million permit was issued for a new single-story retail building of 11,993 square feet at 16119 S.E. Stark St. The applicant is Larry Shirts of Symons Engineering, the owner is Jim Pearson of Portland and the contractor is Sheldon Development Inc. of Fairview.

Building permit intakes for July 27-Aug. 2, 2020

  • A $3.45 million permit is under consideration for a 10,000-square-foot addition at 6941 N. Central St. The addition would include a career and technical education shop and classrooms, grade demolition, site preparation and grading. The applicant is Kyle Elliott of Bassetti Architects, and the owner is Portland Public Schools.
  • A $500,000 permit is under consideration for precast panels at Portland International Airport, at 7000 N.E. Airport Way. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the owner is the Port of Portland and the contractor is Hoffman Skanska LLC.
  • A $2.24 million permit is being evaluated for a four-story, 31-unit, wood-framed, mixed-use building at 8120 S.E. Sixth Ave. The applicant is Auryn White of Bama Architecture and the owner is Joseph Bradford of Portland.
  • A $1.3 million permit is being considered for a three-story mixed-use building with 13 residential units and day care space at 2167 N.W. Glisan St. The applicant is David Horsley of DAO Architecture, the owner is 2167-2171 NW GLISAN LLC and the primary contractor is out to bid.
  • A $1.25 million permit is under review for a three-story, 12-unit apartment building at 5527 N. Greeley Ave. The applicant is Ryan Pickrel of Faster Permits, the owner is Marc Zolton of Kingston, Washington, and the primary contractor is Scott Elliott of Elliott Properties Inc.
  • A $1.94 million permit is being considered for construction of a three-story, 18-unit apartment building at 7150 N. Greenwich Ave. The applicant is Mike Bruckelmeyer of RG Construction Services, in Battle Ground, Washington; the owner is Thuy Ngoc Wang of Portland and RG Construction is also the contractor.

Facility permits issued for July 27-Aug. 2, 2020

  • A $1.7 million facility permit was issued for the Galleria building, at 600 S.W. 10th Ave. Work includes installation of a new door and louver at basement level, demolition of walls on the first floor, and installation of new doors and a floor opening for a future mechanical installation. The applicant is Stephanie Amend of SERA Architects, the owner is UPG Galleria Property Owner LLC of Seattle and the contractor is Mike Brown of Russell Construction Inc.
  • A $9.6 million alteration permit was issued for Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, at 2801 N. Gantenbien Ave. Work includes a family birth center on the ninth floor, demolition of walls and creation of new walls for patient rooms, triage rooms, a locker room, flooring, finishes and more. The applicant is Katherine Ross of ZGF Architects, the owner is Emanuel Hospital, and Andersen Construction Co. of Oregon LLC is the contractor. Another $1.7 million permit was issued for mechanical work at Legacy Emanuel, with Total Mechanical Inc. of Camas, Washington, as the contractor.

Facility permit intakes for July 27-Aug. 2, 2020

  • A $724,000 permit is under review for renovations at the Medical Dental Building, 833 S.W. 11th Ave. Work includes a common area, restrooms, ceilings, flooring, plumbing and electrical. The applicant is Melynda Retallack of Ink:Built Architecture and the owner is Eastern Western Corp. of Portland.
