ECONorthwest has named Jade Aguilar director of research equity in its Portland office. She will provide an understanding of institutional and systemic factors that create and promote social inequities to housing, transportation, education, safety net, and natural resource work. Aguilar previously served as vice president for equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at Willamette University. In that role, she planned and executed the university鈥檚 EDI strategy while earning a promotion to full professor. Aguilar鈥檚 research examines performance and opportunity gaps due to race, gender, family income, resource allocation and other factors, as well as the effectiveness of strategies that try to close these gaps.
