Mae Lin Plummer will become the new executive director of the Leach Botanical Garden 鈥� a Portland Parks & Recreation site. She will succeed David Porter, who is retiring, in mid-January 2021. Plummer spent nearly 20 years in corporate finance until she discovered a passion for horticulture and public gardens. In North Carolina, she served as garden director at the Duke Mansion and filled several roles at the UNC-Charlotte Botanical Gardens. She recently completed the Longwood Fellows Program at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. The first phase of a five-acre expansion of Leach Botanical Garden, in East Portland, is nearly finished.
