CONSTRUCTION

Monte Smith has been promoted to chief executive officer of Gerding Companies. Smith, formerly chief financial officer, has been with the company for more than eight years, leading it through the transition to becoming employee-owned. In his new role, he will focus on growth and connectivity between the family of companies. Smith has a bachelor鈥檚 degree in political science and business economics from Willamette University as well as graduate education in accounting, business and finance through Oregon State University. Gerding Companies鈥� former CEO, Tom Gerding, will shift to board chairman.
