GOVERNMENT

The Oregon Employment Department named Karen Humelbaugh the new director for its Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (PFMLI) program. Previously she was director of the Office of Workforce Investments at the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission. During 24 years within Oregon鈥檚 workforce system, Humelbaugh has worked as a tribal liaison, a dislocated worker specialist, and a leader of multiple local and state partnerships and strategic planning efforts. She holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology from Western Oregon University and a certificate in public management from Willamette University鈥檚 Atkinson Graduate School of Management.
