Senior associate and architect at Scott | Edwards Architecture (SEA)

Jennifer Marsicek鈥檚 accomplishments at SEA go far beyond her project work and enhance both the firm鈥檚 internal culture and the larger community. She is involved in two of SEA鈥檚 Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committees, SEA in the Community and Increasing Diversity and Representation.

Of these committees鈥� initiatives, Marsicek鈥檚 work to establish an architecture scholarship in honor of the firm鈥檚 late founder, Kelly Edwards, was instrumental. By forming a partnership with the ACE Mentor Program of Oregon, she established a multifaceted scholarship that includes both summer internships and job shadow opportunities for recipients. Now in its second year, SEA鈥檚 program has awarded four scholarships to underrepresented women pursuing a degree in architecture.

Marsicek serves on the Bureau of Development Services 鈥� Development Review Advisory Committee, and carries out the committee鈥檚 mission to advocate for the consistent and fair application and implementation of regulations.

Paul Delsman, a fellow committee member, noted Marsicek 鈥渉as brought great expertise to our in-depth discussions that fuel a debate about issues within the built environment industry. Her balance between the architectural experience and the human experience really paints a picture that is holistic in its portrayal.鈥�

Marsicek is active in The Street Trust and encourages businesses to incorporate bicycle parking and a biking culture amongst staff. She has volunteered with Friends of Trees and SOLVE. She also is dedicated to recycling and has helped facilitate sustainable practices in SEA鈥檚 office.

Founder Sid Scott noted that Marsicek is 鈥渨idely recognized as a brilliant leader and mentor.鈥�
