Lindsi Hammond joined GRI in August 2015 and co-founded its Pavement Division, which has tripled in size. She is an integral part of a team that designed one of the nation鈥檚 first seismically resilient airport runways for the Port of Portland, and is the Terminal 2 project manager and lead design engineer.

Hammond鈥檚 technical expertise and influence within the industry were major factors in her being the first female engineer promoted to the GRI management team in 2018, and then to principal and a member of the Board of Directors in 2019.

GRI鈥檚 leadership team highlighted her work ethic, project management ability, devotion to research and commitment to advancing pavement industry standards alongside and in leadership positions with the American Society of Engineers and the Transportation Research Board. As communications coordinator for the TRB鈥檚 Standing Committee on Production and the Use of Asphalt, she is the first female under 35 to be elected to the committee.

Hammond is a member of the Geoprofessional Business Association Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, recently formed to promote DEI throughout the geoprofessional industry. She also fosters young engineers through the Civil Engineering Cooperative Program and, with her leadership and mentorship, GRI strives to hire a CECOP intern every year.

鈥淭he ability and desire that Lindsi strongly believes in towards volunteering her time to work with professional organizations and to mentor young engineers have been very rewarding, and it has helped her tremendously both on a professional and personal level,鈥 said her colleague, Dawn Nolan.
