• Design review with modifications is pending for a project to renovate and expand a former grocery store at 221 N.E. 122nd Ave. to hold Multnomah County library operations. The building would gain a 4,700-square-foot addition to the first floor on the north side as well as a 15,600-square-foot addition to the second floor on the east side. The building’s new total gross square footage would be approximately 72,900. Work would include architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection and exterior civil and landscape improvements. Project goals include a fossil-fuel-free design, net-zero energy use and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold rating.
• Historic resource review is pending for a modification to the ventilation system on the third floor of Montgomery Park, at 2701 N.W. Vaughn St. Work would include relocation of two air intake vents to the west side of the building. Roughly 46 square feet of window glazing in one field of north-facing windows would need to be removed. Window glazing would then need to be reinstalled where the vent currently meets the windows. The historic window grid would remain.
• Early assistance is pending for a row of 17 condos (affordable housing) at 46 N.E. 148th Ave. The proposal calls for two-story units and no garage.
• Early assistance is pending for improvements to the Portland State Office Building, at 800 N.E. Oregon St. Plans call for replacing the 11-story office tower’s roofing systems, failing storefront window systems and curtain wall window system. The proposal also calls for weatherizing the exterior envelope.
• Early assistance is pending for a project on Northeast Inverness Drive (within the 97220 zip code). The proposal calls for replacing 16 air release valves at sites along the Inverness sewer force main to improve system reliability. Work would start at the pump station off of Inverness Drive just west of 122nd Avenue and extend seven miles underground to a connection near the intersection of North Columbia Boulevard and North Argyle Way.
