• Design advice has been requested for a 61-unit permanent supportive housing development at 1131 S.E. Oak St. The project would include associated site improvements. Kristina Hauri of Holst Architecture is the applicant. St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is the project owner.
• Design review with modifications is pending for seismic upgrades for the Fairfield Apartments, at 1121 S.W. Harvey Milk St. The proposal calls for reconfiguration of the ground floor to provide space for residential services and amenities, accessibility improvements and minor exterior alterations. Halla Hoffer of Peter Meijer Architect is the applicant and the city of Portland is the project owner.
• Early assistance is being sought for a renovation of the historic Yale Union Laundry Building, at 800 S.E. 10th Ave. The building, which was originally completed in 1929, will become the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation’s headquarters. The proposed work would create a new theater and café, a new event space, a studio with specialized production areas for artists, common lounge space, office space, and storage areas. The building’s exterior would receive limited alterations. A new covered trash enclosure would be served by a floor drain connected to the sanitary sewer. Brendan Hart of Emerick Architects is the applicant and the Center for Native Arts and Cultures LLC is the project owner.
• Design review is pending for a project to cap the existing driveway/open ramp access into the Slate Building, at 321 N.E. Couch Court. The proposal aims to allow for a fully secure and covered entry to the existing garage. A new structure would consist of concrete masonry walls and an inaccessible green roof. The proposal assumes a concurrent property line adjustment. Jessamyn Griffin of Works Progress Architecture is the applicant and Block 75 LLC is the project owner.
