NAMC-OR would like to welcome Jarrelle Marshall as its new Small Business Program Coordinator. He began his career in the trades in his early 20s as an electrical apprentice. Over time, Jarrelle had the opportunity to learn other building trades and, as a result, was able to move into the administrative side of a vocational program.

鈥淔rom there, I was able to build relationships with folks in the industry as well as advocate for the supports that those looking to get into the trades needed to enable their success,鈥� he said.

Jarrelle鈥檚 goals in his new role as Small Business Program Coordinator are to be responsive to the needs of the NAMC-OR membership, and be a resource for connecting businesses in the community to opportunities that will take them to the next level.

鈥淎dvocacy, empowerment and resourcefulness are important to me,鈥� he said.

Originally from the Seattle area, Jarrelle grew up making weekend trips to Portland for school shopping. Since relocating to the Rose City in late 2020, he has learned that Portland is a vibrant and resilient city with communities of folks who understand the mantra 鈥渨e are stronger together.鈥�

鈥淚鈥檓 happy to now call Portland home and to join the NAMC-OR family,鈥� he said.
