Oregon-based has merged with California-based Axiom Engineers. The combined firm 鈥 a certified woman-owned mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering and design business 鈥 is the second-largest of its kind in the Pacific Northwest.

The firms are family-tied. Laura Breit, president and CEO of ColeBreit Engineering, is the leader of the new firm. She succeeds her father, Ray Cole, formerly president and CEO of Axiom Engineers for more than 40 years. Cole will step into the role of principal emeritus with a focus on mentoring the next generation of firm leadership.

鈥淚t is an honor and joy to pass the leadership baton to my talented, highly-qualified daughter, Laura,鈥 Cole stated in a news release. 鈥淚’ve been inspired watching her personal growth as a professional engineer and leader of ColeBreit over the past nine years. It became obvious to me that she was the ideal person to guide Axiom Engineers into its future. I look forward to the big things the great people of these two teams will accomplish with Laura at the helm.鈥

Following the merger, ColeBreit Engineering has 50 mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, energy and commissioning professionals. Their experience covers civic, education, commercial, health care, residential, hospitality, industrial, biotechnology and agriculture projects. The firm has two offices in Oregon (Bend and Corvallis), and three in California (Monterey, Napa and Santa Cruz).

鈥淐ompleting this merger is the culmination of years of careful brainstorming and planning,鈥 Breit stated in the news release.

Breit founded ColeBreit Engineering, under Cole’s mentorship, in 2013. Axiom Engineers was founded in 1970.
