HIGHER EDUCATION

The Portland Community College Board of Directors has selected Adrien Bennings as PCC鈥檚 next president. She will succeed Mark Mitsui, who will retire at the end of June after serving in the role since 2016. Bennings currently is president of Kellogg Community College, which is based in Battle Creek, Michigan. She also is president of the Kellogg Community College Foundation and helps lead its strategic planning, fundraising activities and advocacy for equity, diversity and inclusion. Bennings has taught courses in human resources development, academic development and retention, and small business development. She has held progressively higher-level positions in higher education for more than 15 years.
