Building permits issued for Aug. 1-7, 2022

• A $522,000 new construction permit was issued for 701 N.E. Columbia Blvd. Improvements will be made to a 3,600-square-foot office space. No occupancy is planned at this time. Associated mechanical, electrical and plumbing work will be covered in a separate permit. Ben Mounce of Mackenzie is the applicant, Portland Columbia Industrial Owner LLC is the project owner, and Guy Blanchard (Sierra Construction) is the contractor.
• A $2,500,000 new construction permit was issued for 5001 N. Columbia Blvd. Plans call for construction of a new return-activated sludge pump house at the Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant. Julietta Rad of the Bureau of Environmental Services is the applicant, the city of Portland is the project owner, and Kiewit Infrastructure West is the contractor.
• A $5,350,000 new construction permit was issued for 5001 N. Columbia Blvd. Plans call for construction of two new clarifiers at the Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant. Julietta Rad of the Bureau of Environmental Services is the applicant, the city of Portland is the project owner, and Kiewit Infrastructure West is the contractor.
• A $5,474,121 alteration permit was issued for 2115 S. River Parkway. Interior modifications are planned for the Residence Inn by Marriott Portland Downtown/RiverPlace. Work will involve finishes, furniture, light fixtures, meeting rooms, guest corridors, and guest rooms. Bradlee Hersey of Faster Permits is the applicant, RI Port River JV 151 LLC is the project owner, and Nova Hotel Renovation & Construction of Treasure Island, Florida, is the contractor.
• An $850,000 addition permit is under inspection for 5716 S.E. 92nd Ave. Plans call for a change of occupancy from S to A3 and F2 – and a seismic upgrade. An existing single-story warehouse is to be converted into a farmers market event space. Also, seating is to be created for an adjacent restaurant/brewery. New exterior roll-up doors are planned as is roof work. Neither the applicant nor the project owner was listed. PacifiCap Construction is the contractor.

Building permit intakes for Aug. 1-7, 2022

• A $3,575,000 addition permit is under review for 1025 S.W. Mill St. Improvements are in the works for Portland State University’s Science Building One. Plans call for complete removal of interior partitions, the exterior envelope and sixth-floor structure – except for the main core elements. The rest of the building’s structural frame would remain. Eric Hasenberg of Bora Architecture & Interiors is the applicant, the Oregon State Board of Higher Education is the project owner, and James Aarhus (Skanska USA Building) is the contractor.
• Eight alteration permits with a total value of $960,000 are under review for 7448 and 7442 S. Virginia Ave., and for 602, 606, 610, 614, 618 and 622 S. Nevada St. Work would involve railings and guardrails. James Riley of Certa Building Solutions is the applicant, the Association of Unit Owners of Macadam Village Condominium is the project owner, and Summit RWP Inc. of Tigard is the contractor.
• A $1,000,000 new construction permit is approved to issue for 875 N.E. 27th Ave. Plans call for construction of a concrete post-tensioning system at Building A of the Pop Blocks. Michael Cecil of R&H Construction is the applicant, SP Jade II LLC of Seattle is the project owner, and R&H Construction is the contractor.

Facility permits issued for Aug. 1-7, 2022

• A $1,600,000 alteration permit was issued for 1211 S.W. Fifth Ave. A tenant improvement to suit Jordan Ramis is planned for suite 2700 of PacWest Center. Plans call for minor demolition and construction of new walls to create a reception area, conference rooms, a break room, a wellness room, a server room, records/copy rooms, a flex room, a library, offices, and open office areas. Existing bathrooms will be remodeled. Work also involves ceiling, flooring, finishes, plumbing and electrical. Lease Crutcher Lewis is the contractor.
• A $1,680,000 alteration permit was issued for 7100 N.E. Airport Way. Plans call for a tenant improvement on levels 1 and 2 of Parking Garage 1 at PDX International Airport. Some existing walls and an escalator will be demolished, and the escalator area will be infilled. New walls will be constructed to create a staging room, equipment storage space, a kitchenette, offices, a break room, locker rooms, bathrooms, a reception area, a lobby area, and more. Work also involves ceiling, flooring, finishes, plumbing and electrical. Maurice Rahming (O’Neill Construction Group) is the contractor.
• A $2,777,000 alteration permit was issued for 808 S.W. Campus Drive. Improvements are planned for the fifth floor of OHSU’s Kohler Pavilion. Existing walls will be demolished and new ones constructed to create a high-temperature steam room and a steam generator room. James Aarhus (Skanska USA Building) is the contractor.

• A $975,000 alteration permit is under review for 825 N.E. Multnomah St., unit 1. A tenant improvement to suit PacifiCorp is planned on the Lloyd Center Tower’s eighth floor. There would be minor demolition and construction of new walls to create a lobby area, huddle rooms, locker rooms, lab rooms, phone rooms, storage rooms, conference rooms, work rooms, open office areas, and more. Existing bathrooms would be remodeled. Work also would include ceiling, flooring, finishes, plumbing and electrical. Deacon Construction is the contractor.
