TriMet has hired Mark Dorn as its executive director of engineering, construction and planning. He has more than two decades of multimodal transit planning, engineering and design experience. He has overseen the engineering and construction of light rail, bus rapid transit and streetcar systems throughout the U.S. Dorn previously was director of transit design and engineering for David Evans and Associates Inc. Before that, he served AECOM as vice president of national transit practice. Dorn holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in civil engineering from the University of Vermont. He also is a licensed professional engineer. His first day with TriMet will be Oct. 3.
