Jakob Strasilla has joined GRI as engineering staff after attaining both a bachelor鈥檚 degree in civil engineering and a master鈥檚 degree in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering from the University of California, Davis. His graduate thesis focused on capturing the energy loss that takes place during standard penetration tests due to increasing sampler rod length. As part of GRI鈥檚 geotechnical engineering staff team, Strasilla will be responsible for completing subsurface investigations, conducting laboratory tests of soil and rock, performing engineering analyses under direction of a senior engineer, and providing construction observation services.
