An industrial supply company plans to open a 500,000-square-foot distribution center in Gresham in 2025.

Grainger鈥檚 new facility is expected to enhance the company鈥檚 customer service in the Pacific Northwest, providing additional capacity for delivery of best-in-class, next-day complete orders across the United States, Grainger stated in a press release.

The firm plans to break ground this summer on the building, which will be constructed on a vacant 48-acre parcel in an industrial area of Gresham.

鈥淕rainger is making a significant investment in the Pacific Northwest market by building this distribution center and creating many local jobs,鈥� Lisa Parro, Grainger鈥檚 senior manager of communications, stated in an email.

The new facility is expected to house more than 135,000 industrial supply items such as hand and power tools, heating and ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, fluid power solutions, lighting, power transmission equipment, and motors. The company anticipates staffing the center with approximately 80 team members upon completion, and eventually increasing that number to more than 150.

This project is part of an expansion for Grainger, which is planning to open both a bulk warehouse in Pennsylvania and one in Texas later this year, plus another in North Carolina next year.

The Gresham facility will join 10 other distribution centers and branch locations that Grainger currently operates in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana.
