The American Institute of Architects鈥� Academy of Architecture for Health recently honored Holst Architecture for exceptional design of a health care project.

The 2023 Healthcare Design Awards recognize cutting-edge designs that help solve aesthetic, civic, urban and social problems while also being functional and sustainable. Eligible projects can include health care building design, health care planning, and health care design-oriented research. This year鈥檚 projects were chosen by a six-person jury in three categories.

Holst Architecture was honored in the 鈥淏uilt: less than $25 million (construction cost)鈥� category for the new Fora Health headquarters in Portland. The 53,774-square-foot facility at 10230 S.E. Cherry Blossom Drive was completed in 2021. The campus unites Fora Health鈥檚 administrative offices and adult addiction treatment programs in one location, with space for detox, residential, and outpatient programs.

The project team also included developer Edlen & Co.; general contractor R&H Construction; civil engineer Vega Civil Engineering; mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer Sazan Group; structural engineer Catena Consulting Engineers; and landscape architect Ground Workshop.

Also, ZGF Architects鈥� Seattle office received an award in the 鈥淏uilt: more than $25 million (construction cost)鈥� category. The firm was honored for the Seattle Children鈥檚 Building Care: diagnostic and treatment facility.
