Parametrix hires DeGrood as senior scientist

Shira DeGrood has joined Parametrix as a senior scientist. She will be part of the firm鈥檚 environmental planning and compliance team in Portland. DeGrood previously served AECOM and now has nearly two decades of technical and project management experience in contaminated site assessment and remediation for soil, groundwater, and sediment projects. She has technical expertise in site characterization, remedial and source control actions, contaminant fate, transport assessments and associated risk-based conceptual site model development, and technical allocation for complex sediment superfund sites. Her work has involved oversight by agencies including the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Washington Department of Ecology, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
