With Swinerton Inc. CEO Eric Foster preparing to retire on Jan. 11, 2024, the Board of Directors has elected David Callis, currently the firm鈥檚 president, the next CEO of Swinerton and its subsidiaries.

Since joining Swinerton Builders as a project engineer in 1982, Foster has served various roles. During his tenure, Timberlab, SAK Builders, and MDBuilders have joined the Swinerton family of companies. Also, Facility Solutions, a full鈥恠ervice building maintenance provider, and Perq pre鈥恉esigned and pre鈥恊ngineered parking solutions were established within Swinerton Builders.

Foster, while announcing his retirement during the company鈥檚 annual shareholders meeting this year, reflected on his career and offered words of encouragement, stating, 鈥淭hink about what you can accomplish in the next 42 years. There is no limit except your imagination and work ethic.鈥�

Callis鈥� career in the construction industry extends back more than 30 years. He joined Swinerton Builders in 2001 as a senior project manager in Orange County, California, and has since held various positions. He was elected senior vice president in 2017 and joined the Swinerton Inc. Board of Directors. The following year, he became executive vice president and a key member of the executive committee.

Over the past few years under Callis鈥� leadership, Swinerton has developed and expanded its public鈥恜rivate partnership capabilities, with a portfolio now exceeding $1 billion in projects, including the Salinas Police Station, County of Orange Civic Center, Quartz Library, and McKinney Airport Hangar, the firm states.

Swinerton has 21 offices across the United States, including an office in Portland. The company is headquartered in San Francisco.
