An upcoming symposium will look at new technologies influencing how building facility managers, engineering consultants, contractors and energy managers can control buildings鈥� indoor environments. Siemens and MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions will host the 鈥淐ritical Environments鈥� symposium from 2 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 8,聽at the Heathman Hotel, 1001 S.W. Broadway, in Portland.

The event will include an education session, a panel discussion, and networking with food and beverages. Topics will include the future of lab spaces, going green with the CE energy use index, visibility into lab operating performance, transforming old labs into digital powerhouses, and elevating lab safety.

Attendees will learn about technological advancements in critical environment control systems, allowing for better safety, energy performance and system flexibility.聽That is critical for lab spaces, where safety measures with state-of-the-art control systems provide real-time monitoring and rapid response capabilities. New technologies can also help old labs become digital powerhouses with enhanced performance and safety as well as energy cost savings, MacDonald-Miller stated in an email.
