Perlo Construction has acquired Reimers & Jolivette Inc. (R&J), which will now be named Reimers & Jolivette Construction LLC.

Tualatin-based Perlo Construction will be the parent company, but R&J will retain its brand and remain in Portland.

R&J, founded in 1922, has built a reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across various sectors in the Portland area, a Perlo blog post states. Some of R&J’s recent clients include Portland General Electric, Northwest Natural Gas, United Way and Reed College. R&J has tackled historic renovations, seismic upgrades and complex utility projects, a Perlo Construction press release states. The firm has approximately 20 employees.

R&J co-owners Mark Beckius and Scott Prater will stay with the company as vice presidents. Elissa Looney, Perlo’s director of strategic initiatives, will become R&J’s director of operations. She will be supported by Perlo’s teams, particularly President Chris Gregg.

The acquisition allows Perlo to extend its footprint into downtown Portland, the company’s blog post states. While Perlo has completed several tenant improvements within Portland, R&J has a well-established presence in multiple high-rises and downtown core spaces. R&J will now have access to Perlo’s resources and additional craftspeople, and Perlo will benefit from the knowledge and relationships that R&J has built over the past century, Perlo states.
