David Evans and Associates has acquired TranTech Engineering LLC, a civil engineering firm located in Bellevue, Washington.

David Evans and Associates (DEA) is headquartered in Portland and has offices in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Texas, New York and Mississippi. The firm provides design services for transportation, water, land, energy and marine infrastructure projects. Employees include engineers, surveyors, hydrographers, planners, landscape architects and natural resources scientists.

The TranTech Engineering acquisition provides DEA with additional expertise in comprehensive engineering and construction management services. Since 2005, TranTech Engineering has specialized in structural engineering, including bridge design and rehabilitation, seismic analysis, structural inspections and industrial facility design. The company鈥檚 civil engineering expertise ranges from roadway design and ADA compliance to traffic engineering and stormwater management. The construction management services include resident engineering, cost estimating, schedule development, and specialized knowledge in concrete and foundation construction, a DEA press release states.

鈥淭he acquisition of TranTech Engineering aligns with our strategic goal to expand our presence in the Puget Sound region and further strengthens our expertise in bridges and structures, roadway design, and construction management,鈥� DEA Chairman and CEO Al Barkouli stated in the press release.

As part of the integration process, TranTech Engineering will consolidate resources in DEA鈥檚 offices in Bellevue and Olympia, Washington, while extending DEA鈥檚 presence to Bellingham and Pasco, Washington. With the acquisition, DEA gains more than 50 TranTech Engineering employees.
