The Building Industry Association of Clark County (BIA) has installed Alexa Lee as its new president. Lee, the second woman to lead the group, succeeds Chuck Neibert, co-owner of Affinity Homes.

Lee is sales manager at GRO, a Vancouver, Washington-based landscaping company. She plans to engage BIA members personally, expand programs like Build Better, and strengthen efforts to diversify the membership base, she said. Her goals also include building upon the foundation established by past leadership while adapting to the industry鈥檚 evolving needs and finding innovative ways to keep members engaged.

鈥淚t鈥檚 an incredible honor to serve as the first female president of the BIA in 27 years,鈥� Lee stated in a news release. 鈥淭his milestone reflects the progress our industry has made with nearly 11 percent of construction jobs held by women.鈥�

BIA鈥檚 first woman president, Nicole Wubben, served in 1997.

The BIA of Clark County is a nonprofit trade association that represents the interests of all businesses involved with real estate, land development, homebuilding鈥痑nd construction.
