Principal                                                                                                                                                        Mackenzie is pleased to share Alexis Bauer’s promotion to principal. Alexis, an interior designer and branch manager of Mackenzie’s Vancouver office, joined the firm over 20 years ago as an intern. During that time, she has been committed to exceptional client service, fostering a workplace centered on employee well-being, and contributing to the growth of Mackenzie.

Alexis’ skills as a decisive leader and trusted designer have led to various achievements corporately as well as earned respect from colleagues, clients, and partners. She has worked on a wide variety of projects, from large-scale corporate tenant improvements to workplaces for advanced tech manufacturers to the design of public essential facilities.

Alexis is known for her ability to make things happen, whether it’s during the course of project design, or leading an office. She has been an integral leader of the Mackenzie Community Fund, which supports community outreach, volunteering, and charitable giving.

Education: Washington State University (bachelor’s)

What was a recent (or favorite) vacation you took? My family recently vacationed in Hawaii. We loved exploring the island and taking in the beautiful scenery. It was amazing how much the landscape changed as you traveled around the island. We hiked around Kilauea and spent hours at the beach snorkeling and enjoying the sun.

What do you do when you want to relax? I enjoy spending time with family and friends. When we aren’t doing home and yard projects, we like trying new restaurants and breweries in Portland and Vancouver. Or just relax by playing games and watching movies.

Favorite mantra: Work hard and be nice to people.
