Industrial construction contractor JR Merit, based in Vancouver, Washington, has announced the promotion of Duncan Bagley to president as founder Mark Radich takes on a new role focused on strategic growth.

During more than 20 years in the construction industry, Bagley has focused on industrial, high-tech, manufacturing, and power generation projects. He joined JR Merit in 2017 as a senior project manager and was elevated to executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2020, the firm stated in a press release.

JR Merit鈥檚 reputation and Radich鈥檚 unique vision drew Bagley to the firm, he stated.

鈥淔ew founders genuinely want their organization to outgrow them 鈥 it requires humility and sacrifice,鈥 Bagley stated in the press release. 鈥淢ark has created a culture where everyone can take on responsibility, push past their comfort zones, and uphold shared values in how we treat each other, work, and take ownership.鈥

Bagley is the ideal leader to guide the company鈥檚 next chapter, according to Radich.

鈥淗e鈥檚 been instrumental in JR Merit鈥檚 growth and organizational development,鈥 Radich stated. 鈥淗is ability to align teams, cultivate talent, and lead with conviction has shaped us into who we are today.鈥

As part of the transition, Radich will focus more on business development and strategic growth opportunities. He will continue to serve on the company鈥檚 board of directors.

JR Merit was founded in 1997 and provides hydropower, mechanical piping, millwright, civil concrete, and general contracting services across the western U.S.
