The applicant is requesting approval of two new street-level fire exit doors: one located on the north side of the building, the other on the south side. The total square footage being affected is 160 square feet (107 square feet on the north elevation and 53 square feet on the south elevation).

The proposal is for replacement of the Portland Bureau of Environmental Services’ Force Avenue Pump Station. The project includes decommissioning the existing pump station. The existing site is proposed to be demolished and restored with varied native plant species. The installation of a new pump station with the extension of utilities would be at 10799 N. Expo Road.

The existing elevator penthouse requires modifications to comply with current code for overhead clearance of proposed new elevator hoist equipment. The roof needs to be raised approximately 5 feet, 8 inches to allow for the 7-foot minimum vertical clearance. The old metal siding would be replaced with cement board panels. The added wall height adds approximately 220 square feet of new wall area. This is a contributing resource.
