Type 1x procedure (historic resource review) – pending
Address: 1025 S.E. Pine St.
Applicant: Mike Zupan of Troy Laundry Property Holder LLC of Chicago
Owner: Troy Laundry Property Holder LLC of Chicago
Roof and façade repairs are required for the Troy Laundry Building, a historic landmark listed on the national register. Since construction was completed in 2024, the installed roofing system has exhibited systematic leakage across the third-floor roof terrace. Repairs related to the historic facades are sought to prevent infiltration of water into the building and protect historic materials. This would include 100 percent masonry tuckpointing and clear water repellant coating over the primary masonry facades along Pine, 10th, and 11th streets. New metal coping is proposed over the top of all the concrete cornice and parapet coping cap to prevent deterioration of the historic concrete. The project would also involve removal and replacement of roofing and waterproofing assemblies at the third-floor terrace, including removal of raised landscape planters and material.
Early assistance – pending
Address: 9800 S.E. Powell Blvd.
Applicant: Natalie Salgado Gil of Convergence Architecture
Owner: TriMet
This project would involve retrofitting a maintenance building for diesel and electric buses to accommodate the maintenance of fuel-cell electric buses. Additionally, the project team would create an exterior area for storing compressed hydrogen and hydrogen gas fueling equipment. Adjacent to this area, there would be a gravel pad equipped with water, power, and stormwater conduit and piping, which would allow for future space allocation for a green hydrogen production module.
