Matt Hammel serves as project manager at Griffin Construction, where he leads the company鈥檚 satellite office in The Dalles. Over his 11-year career in the construction industry, Hammel has distinguished himself not only through project management excellence but also through his entrepreneurial approach to business development.

A graduate of Oregon State University鈥檚 Construction and Engineering Management program, Hammel has spent more than a decade with Griffin Construction, making him one of the company鈥檚 longest-standing project managers. His role extends beyond typical project management duties 鈥� he independently identifies and pursues new opportunities for the firm, a practice uncommon among his peers. Over the years, Hammel has secured eight projects for Griffin Construction, landing work throughout Oregon, including northern regions near his home.

Currently, Hammel manages five projects simultaneously across Oregon, including sites near the company鈥檚 Prineville headquarters. His management approach requires extensive travel between project locations, yet he maintains consistent performance and positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Hammel鈥檚 work on the Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center Expansion project exemplifies his community engagement and professional skill. The project, located on the Warm Springs Reservation, will expand healthcare services and increase patient capacity for the Native American community. Throughout the project, Hammel has navigated design revisions and client requests while maintaining strong relationships with the leadership team.

His commitment to the Warm Springs community extends beyond the construction site. Hammel has coordinated donations to the reservation and participated in local school events, including organizing construction site tours designed to inspire young people toward careers in the industry.
