Dan Snow has spent more than 40 years transforming affordable housing construction into a model of sustainability, innovation and community impact.

As vice president of affordable housing at Walsh Construction Co., Snow oversees the firm鈥檚 management team and has been the driving force behind its affordable housing work since 1990. Under his leadership, Walsh has created more than 32,250 affordable and mixed-use housing units, setting national benchmarks for quality, sustainability and affordability.

Snow earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. His career began in the field as a laborer before progressing through roles as superintendent and project manager. This hands-on experience has informed his approach to leadership throughout more than 35 years at Walsh Construction.

His portfolio includes landmark projects that have redefined sustainable building practices. The Jean Vollum Natural Capital Center became the first LEED Gold historic project in the United States, while Bud Clark Commons achieved recognition as Portland鈥檚 first LEED Platinum building. Both projects have been recognized for their innovation and community impact.

Snow鈥檚 work extends beyond construction oversight to include navigating the complex funding processes that make affordable housing possible. He leads meticulous preconstruction planning to ensure projects remain efficient, cost-effective and community-focused.

In 2011, Snow co-founded O鈥橬eill/Walsh Community Builders, a joint venture between O鈥橬eill Construction Group, an MBE/DBE-certified and veteran-owned firm, and Walsh Construction Co. The partnership has completed 15 projects in 14 years while consistently exceeding COBID participation goals. The venture has created pathways for women- and minority-owned businesses through meaningful contracts, mentorship and knowledge transfer.

Snow鈥檚 projects integrate community services and equity-focused outcomes. Francis + Clare Place provides permanent supportive housing for individuals facing chronic homelessness and health challenges, while Cedar Commons offers housing paired with reintegration services. Crescent Court combines affordable housing with a Boys & Girls Club after-school program, and Meridian Gardens provides recovery-focused supportive housing.

Beyond his professional work, Snow supports several community organizations including De La Salle North Catholic High School, Self-Enhancement Inc., and The Serendipity Center.
