Kim Wilson, principal, owner and quality director at Holst Architecture, has spent nearly three decades shaping the built environment through her commitment to design excellence and technical precision.

Wilson joined Holst Architecture in 1999 and has been instrumental in the firm鈥檚 growth while establishing its reputation for quality design and execution. She has led some of the firm鈥檚 most iconic projects, including the East County Library, the Patricia Reser Center for the Creative Arts and Bud Clark Commons.

Her work on Bud Clark Commons, a housing and services facility developed by Home Forward and Transition Projects, earned 91视频 Women of Vision recognition in 2017. The project鈥檚 client praised Wilson鈥檚 diligent attention to detail, high expectations for every trade working on site and ability to translate design intent from drawings into the finished building, which proved critical to the project鈥檚 success.

As Holst鈥檚 quality director, Wilson has become a leader in developing the firm鈥檚 high-quality design standards. She translates her standards for quality and collaborative work ethic into ongoing technical training and mentoring of the firm鈥檚 growing staff. Wilson works closely with each project team to realize design visions in built form, and through detailing, building structure, consultant coordination and contractor coordination throughout construction, she has become the firm鈥檚 primary resource for teams addressing complex design and construction challenges.

Wilson co-leads Holst鈥檚 Minneapolis office and splits her time between the firm鈥檚 two locations. She has fostered a collaborative team in Minneapolis that thrives under her leadership and continues working to expand the firm鈥檚 presence in the region.

Beyond her firm, Wilson shares her expertise with the broader architecture, engineering and construction industry. She has served as a design awards juror for the American Institute of Architects鈥� Tennessee chapter in 2023 and Columbus chapter in 2017. Wilson has participated in presentations at various conferences and webinars, including the Advancing Design Quality Management Conference in 2024, where she discussed quality assurance and control, and Sustainable Building Week Portland in 2019, where she presented 鈥淪ustainability in the Details.鈥�

Wilson earned a Master of Architecture from the University of Kansas in 1998 and a Bachelor of General Science from Oklahoma City University in 1994.

Her portfolio includes projects serving communities through housing, addiction recovery resources and spaces for learning and connection, including the Rockwood Youth Campus for Rockwood Boys & Girls Club and Open School, and Fora Health鈥檚 treatment center.
