Pam Saftler and Mandy Butler are principals and owners of TVA Architects, a Portland-area firm specializing in architecture, interior design and planning. Together with partner Tim Wybenga, they lead a 25-person team that has served clients for 41 years.

The women-owned firm, which achieved COBID certification in August, maintains 67 percent women ownership. Saftler and Butler have focused on creating an equitable workplace culture and supporting emerging architects through mentorship programs that extend from elementary schools through college.

Under their leadership, TVA Architects has diversified its project portfolio across multiple markets while maintaining strong client relationships. The firm emphasizes work-life balance and provides pathways for professionals returning to the field after career breaks.

Saftler and Butler have positioned women in key leadership roles throughout the organization. They participate in career fairs, informational interviews and job shadowing programs to promote design and construction careers to students and underrepresented groups in the profession.
