BRIC Architecture has established itself as one of the Pacific Northwest’s leading educational design firms, exclusively focusing on K-12 planning and architecture with a team of more than 60 professionals. Since 2017, the Portland-based firm has led more than 100 educational projects across Oregon and Washington, representing more than $1 billion in combined construction value.

The firm recently completed the Career & Technical Education Center at David Douglas High School, a project that achieved a net energy use intensity 86 percent below the 2030 baseline through integrated sustainable design solutions. Under the leadership of Sustainability Director Mark Perepelitza, BRIC incorporates energy modeling, daylight studies and materials research to deliver measurable life-cycle efficiencies on its projects.

As one of Oregon’s largest majority-women owned architecture firms, BRIC maintains a leadership team that is 50 percent people of color, with women comprising 53 percent of total staff and people of color representing over 25 percent. The firm graduated from Oregon’s COBID program in 2022.

In 2025, BRIC earned its Just Label through the International Living Future Institute, recognizing the firm’s commitment to equity, diversity, wellness and social justice practices. The firm serves educational communities throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington, including South Puget Sound, with staff now based in both states.
