Contractor faced with defect costs 14 years after completing project
Sunset Presbyterian Church in 2009 filed a lawsuit against Oregon City-based Brockamp and Jaeger, claiming that the company鈥檚 exterior work for a 1999 church addition was faulty. In response, the general contractor stated that the 10-year limit of the statute of repose had expired. The Oregon Court of Appeal ruled otherwise, based on a specific clause in the project contract.
UO project added to governor鈥檚 list

Habitat for Humanity finishing Portland subdivisions
Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East recently wrapped up a fundraising campaign that brought in $12 million, which was used to buy land in various unfinished subdivisions. The organization says it plans to build about a total of 150 new houses on the land.
