MCM Construction in Portland, Oregon, will reconstruct a home design by famed architect Pietro Belluschi at the Marylhurst University campus.
Hideous or graceful? Union County split over wind turbines
An Eastern Oregon community is divided over a proposed wind development in the Grande Ronde Valley. Proponents say the wind farm could bring jobs and money to the struggling community, but a vocal group of residents say wind farms are unsightly, loud and ruinous to the landscape and wildlife.
Oregon students present design proposals
High school students in the ACE Mentor Program presented their design proposals for a library, a fire station and a public park. Students received help with their projects from mentors in engineering and architecture fields.
Robotics camp
Students from 10 Portland-area high schools participated in a robotics camp at the Portland Community College Sylvania campus, where they got to use the school's machines and work room to build robots for a future robotics competition.
Troutdale Centennial Arch
Workers placed a 60-foot-long arch in downtown Troutdale to mark the city's centennial. The arch rests on two basalt stone-clas piers created by Michael Byrne and is adorned with sculptured bronze salmon donated by local artist Rip Caswell.
