First Burnside Bridgehead project gets rolling after securing loan, anchor tenant
The Portland Development Commission’s board has approved an agreement with Beam Development for the company to move forward with the renovation of the historic, 96,000-square-foot Convention Plaza building. The PDC has signed memorandums of understanding with three additional development companies to look into projects on other blocks of the Burnside Bridgehead properties.

PDC expands loan for Burnside Bridgehead
At a Wednesday commission meeting the Portland Development Commission approved additional funds for a loan to Beam Development to get started on the Convention Plaza redevelopment, the first phase of the Burnside Bridgehead project.
RFI issued for Burnside Bridgehead

Because of the recession, PDC and its chosen developer, Beam Development, cannot go forward with the project now. By the time the plan is completed, PDC expects the economy will rebound.
