Buses to sub for streetcar during construction

No more free bus rides in Fareless Square

The 34-year-old tradition of free transit in downtown Portland will partially erode in January 2010, when TriMet buses will begin charging the regular one- or two-zone fare. TriMet's decision to eliminate buses from the Fareless Square policy came after a public outreach process.
