Developers cry foul at fee for new light-rail line, other projects
The Portland City Council on Wednesday heard the first reading on a new fee that will be assessed to any new construction or expansion project located near the new Portland to Milwaukie light-rail line. Despite concerns from property and business owners who say the fee will stop any new development dead in its tracks, the city has decided it will hold a final vote on the fee next week.
For Central Eastside, city recommends not only parking meters, but management, too
The city of Portland recommends that businesses in the Central Eastside Industrial District create a transportation management association. The TMA, similar to those that have been successful elsewhere in the city, would govern the area’s parking permit program and help decide transportation issues.
